1. Most people don't know the difference between advertiser spyware and computer monitoring spy software.  We have found that a majority of online users are confused or unaware of one or the other.  More info here.

2. Most people are unaware that spyware scanners, virus scanners, trojan scanners, firewalls and other security programs do not detect or protect against computer monitoring spyware.

3. Many computer monitoring programs can be installed just like a virus, by an email attachment.  Now there are even hybrid versions that can be installed by a email greeting card!

4.When we started SpyCop there were only around 50 different commercially available spyware monitoring programs, and now there are over 500!

5.We have customers from all walks of life whose personal & business privacy has been invaded. Spyware is used by spouses, pedophiles, blackmailers, identity thieves, and even for corporate and government espionage. The problem is increasing exponentially. The spyware users aren't telling anyone, and the people whose systems are being compromised don't want anyone to know.
